I have a number of automatic watches and multi-winders in which they're stored when not worn. However, my prize is the Rolex Datejust SS & Gold watch my late father wore. While it is too precious to wear except on very special occasions, I did not want it locked away in a big cabinet with all of the others. This handy winder with the viewport was the perfect answer.
It sits proudly on my credenza in my study, so that I can see the watch whenever I want - and the wonderful memories it evokes. True, it does make a slight sound when rotating. However, for me it is a reminder to let my gaze wonder over to the watch, so the "noise" - such as it is - is a bonus.
The slow speed of the winder and the automatic "1-hour-on-and-3-hours-off" helps guard against overwinding. The choice of "clockwise" or "anti-clockwise" rotation is important - some automatics will not wind but one direction. Check your watch manual, your jeweler or the manufacturer to be sure.
The price on this winder is a great bargain. It is much more sophisticated than less expensive models and even more costly versions. You can't go wrong.

I have had this winder for over three weeks, doing a fine job. Cheap price and shipped reasonably fast, I would recommend it.

I was somewhat skeptical of buying this item due to the negative feedback on the mechanics of operation. I had no difficulty in understanding what must be done and how to operate it dispite the skimpy instruction sheet. I am handicaped and do not move my arm enough to wind my Seiko watch, but this watch winder did the trick. My watch manual did not state which way to wind it (clock or counter clockwise) so I tried both, found my watch used the counter clock wise setting on the switch on the back. My watch has kept perfect time since i started using it two months ago. I simply put it in the winder at night before I go to bed. Good investment for me. I recommend this item.

I got my winder quicker than I had expected which was nice. I have a nice automatic watch that I don't wear everyday, so I needed to keep it wound, mostly because I don't want the lubricant seizing up. It's very easy to get the watch in and out of the winder, so I can get it out pretty quick if I'm headed out. I didn't know which way it needed to be wound so I just tried it both ways and found that only counter-clockwise kept it wound, so it's nice that it has those two options. For the price I think it was an excellent choice, I will definetly get another one of these if I get another watch.
